Åsa-Nisse was played by the actor John Elfström, who in the picture has taken a coffee break from the filming that took place in the Stockholm region and Saltsjöbaden during May and June 1966.
The character Åsa-Nisse was created by Stig Cederholm and premiered as a cartoon character in the weekly magazine Tidsfördriv in 1944. The character was later made into a film and over 20 films were produced between 1949 and 1969.
