The story is like a fairytale tribute to summer and nature, seen from a child's point of view.
Elsa Beskow (1874–1953) was a Swedish writer and illustrator who became one of the country's most influential picture book creators. Beskow was known for his warm depictions of children, home and nature. She often illustrated her own texts and her visual world has a strong connection to everyday environments and romantic nature.
