Poster with an illustrated promotional poster for the exhibition The vacuum cleaner 50 years from 1999. On the poster we see that the anniversary exhibition took place from 18 Oct to 3 Nov at the Technical Museum in Stockholm. We also see a person in the typical clothes of a maid holding an Electrolux vacuum cleaner.
The idea for the vacuum cleaner was born in a time when homes were filled with dusty carpets while people were beginning to understand the connection between hygiene and health. The first vacuum cleaner was invented in the USA in 1868. Electrolux, which was founded in 1919, quickly became one of the world's leading manufacturers of vacuum cleaners. The vacuum cleaners that are served with coffee today are based in appearance on the Electrolux vacuum cleaner Z30.
