Poster with an old map of Sweden from 1650. In the left corner of the map we see a beautiful illustration together with the text: "Geographical charter of Swerige with its provinces, most important and famous cities, islands, streams and country roads."
On the map we also see Finland, which during this time belonged to Sweden. When Swedish rule over Finland begins is somewhat uncertain. Historical evidence of the establishment of Swedish rule in Finland can be found from the end of the 13th century onwards. Swedish rule ended on 17 September 1809 as a result of the Finnish War.
