Poster with the painting Gustaf II Adolf is found dead after the Battle of Lützen by the Swedish artist Carl Wahlbom.
The painting depicts the tragic event when the Swedish king Gustav II Adolf is found dead on the battlefield after the Battle of Lützen on November 6, 1632. The Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) was one of the most devastating conflicts in European history during the early modern era. It was primarily a religious and political conflict that was fought in main parts of the German area, but also involved several European powers.
Gustav II Adolf's death at the Battle of Lützen in 1632 marked a significant event in the Thirty Years' War and left a great void in the Swedish military leadership. Despite this, Sweden continued to play a significant role in the war and was one of the winning parties in its conclusion.
