Poster with a nautical illustration from 1890 showing sea marks and lighthouses at Denmark (Jutland), Finland (Åland) and England (River Thames). On the illustration we see the title texts "North and West Coast of Jutland", "England - River Thames" and "Finland - Åland islands".
The illustration was published with the book "Maritime Telegraph Systems, Buoys, Beacons, Tidal Signals ptr." created by Victor Carlsson, captain in the Swedish merchant navy. The book aimed to document maritime signaling systems and included 44 prints of maritime signaling systems from the time that existed around the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
Among the islands off Åland we see Dånö, Högsten, Bokskär, Nyhamn, Rödhamn, Ledsund, Kobbaklintar and Signature cutter.
24 different sea marks on the coast of Jutland are visible in the image, including those next to it Block house and The loop which are popular tourist destinations in Denmark, known for their beautiful beaches.
Among the English seamarks we see, among other things, one next to it Harwich, which is a well-known port and city in Essex, England and Margate which is a popular coastal town and tourist destination.
