Poster with an illustration from Putte's Adventures in the Blueberry Forest, a beloved Swedish children's book written and illustrated by Elsa Beskow, from the year 1901. It is one of Beskow's most famous works and is considered a classic in Swedish children's literature.
The book is about the little boy Putte who goes into the forest to pick berries as a gift for his mother. Unfortunately, he doesn't find any, which makes him sad. Then the Old Man Blueberry appears and takes him on a magical adventure through the blueberry forest and the lingonberry forest, where he gets help filling his baskets with berries.
In this motif, we see Putte sitting on a stump in the forest with two baskets full of berries. To his left we see the text:
So farewell is waved with cap and hand and Putte leaves the land of blueberries and the kind blueberry old man. And before he has time to count to seven, the dishes and cart are gone, and now he's sitting there again on the stump!
At first Putte thinks: "surely it was a dream!" but he still has both baskets with the berries almost shining, so that dream was probably really true. And happy in the hång now he trudges home with his baskets.
