Poster with an illustration from Putte's Adventures in the Blueberry Forest, a beloved Swedish children's book written and illustrated by Elsa Beskow, from the year 1901. It is one of Beskow's most famous works and is considered a classic in Swedish children's literature.
The book is about the little boy Putte who goes into the forest to pick berries as a gift for his mother. Unfortunately, he doesn't find any, which makes him sad. Then the Old Man Blueberry appears and takes him on a magical adventure through the blueberry forest and the lingonberry forest, where he gets help filling his baskets with berries.
In this motif, we see the lingonberry mother, her daughters, the blueberry boys and Putte eating together. Below them we see the text:
"Then it rings; and now they hurry,
because lingonberry offers something good,
on honey lignon so clear;
although Putte has never tasted it before
as good as this, he cannot afford
more than two lingonberries only.
Then Putte bends as deep as he can
and thanks for everything, because now he has to
and the blueberry boys danger.
In the big box they go get.
The little girls wave their hands
and the boys willingly answered them."
