A dramatic painting by Bruno Liljefors from 1897 depicting two sea eagles attacking another bird, probably a gannet, on a stormy sea.

Bruno Liljefors is Sweden's all-time best-known nature painter. He is perhaps best known for his subjects with animals, often in dramatic situations. During his time as a student at the Academy of Arts, he became good friends with Anders Zorn, a friendship that would last a lifetime.

A more unknown side of Bruno Liljefors is his career as a variety artist and elite gymnast specializing in bars. He was very athletic and performed at both Sveasalen and the Royal Opera.
