In a fascinating article from the newspaper "Se" number 23, 1944, they write about a woman Olga Sjögren from Stockholm. This impressive woman has during the past winter completed a feat that few know about. She has mastered the Seven Peaks , a feat that only fifteen men had accomplished earlier .
The seven peaks include Vassitjåkko, Vuojtasrita, Låktattjåkko, Kärpel, Pävjetjåkko, Latnjatjåkko and Kuoblatjåkko, and all of them are higher than 1,300 meters above sea level. Mrs Sjögren conquered the four latter peaks within a time frame of only fourteen days, with Riksgränsen as a starting point.
The photo captures the moment when she triumphantly climbs the last peak, Kuoblatjåkko. Through the seven mountain climbs, she has put in a total of over 60 hours of riding time and climbed a total of 6,558 metres.
Skiing experts believe that Olga Sjögren's performance is quite unique because it required unwavering energy and exceptional fitness. In the picture, we can see her wearing only a bathing suit, as the sun at this time of the year provides a pleasant warmth in the mountain world.
