Poster with a photograph of a wintry Norwegian landscape. Cadet Haneborg cross-country skiing behind a horse across the snow in January 1903.

Halfdan Haneborg Hansen (1868–1915) was an officer in the Norwegian army and known for his work in mapping in Norway. He played a central role in the development of geographical maps during his time.

The photographer behind the picture is Anders Beer Wilse. He was a Norwegian photographer who documented Norway in the early to mid-20th century and also worked in the United States. Wilse was born in Flekkefjord, but grew up in Kragerø and decided early on to become a sailor. After graduating from the technical school in Horten in 1882, he emigrated to the United States in 1884.
