The story behind the motif
Canvas with the watercolor painting Luftslott by the iconic Swedish artist Anders Zorn. During the 1880s, Zorn worked primarily in watercolor. He skilfully depicted reflections and other light effects in images of everyday life.
The woman in the picture is Emma Lamm who married Zorn the same year the watercolor is painted. Most likely, Zorn painted the painting during their wedding trip that went through Vienna and Budapest to Constantinople. The sun shines through Emma's Japanese parasol.
Artist: Anders Zorn | Created: 1885.
