What is Historly?

Historly sells exclusive posters and canvas paintings with a focus on historical motifs online. The history behind the works, quality and exclusivity are in focus in everything we do. Our office is located in Stockholm, Sweden.

Where do the motifs come from?

All motifs have been carefully selected from various archives. Historly also collaborates with artists, photographers and you who own rights to historical images and art. We are continuously expanding our collections.

I can't find the subject or artist I'm looking for, can you help me?

Yes and yes! We are expanding our collections as fast as we can but we need your help to prioritize the right subject, photographer and artist! Write to us and describe what you are looking for and we will do our best to get it for you! Examples could be a certain work, a certain artist, an old photograph of the street you live on, an old map of the neighborhood you live in, or a famous quote by someone you find inspirational.

What paper do you use for posters?

We are very proud to only work with paper from Hahnemühle, one of the world's absolute leading manufacturers of fine art paper. Our customers feel that Hahnemühle paper gives the works a more exclusive look. The paper type is called Hahnemühle Studio Enhanced 210g and has a warm tone, which gives the motifs a fantastic depth. The paper is matte and has a very soft surface with a fine texture. The paper is acid free and has a very low OBA content. If you store and mount our posters correctly, you can count on them to last up to 60 years!

What fabric do you use for the canvas paintings?

Again, our beloved Hahnemühle. All canvas paintings are made by hand in Sweden and the motifs are printed on one of the world's most exclusive canvas fabrics Art Canvas Smooth which gives the works an incredible feeling. The fabric is matte coated and made from a blend between polyester and cotton. The creamy white color makes the subject's colors come to life beautifully. The fabric contains no optical brighteners and has a smooth, uniform canvas structure. The fabric is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most demanding requirements in terms of age resistance. 

What is the resolution and cropping of the images?

As some photos are over 100 years old, they are naturally a bit more blurry and out of focus than brand new photos - we think that's part of the charm! All our products are of good quality and have been carefully reviewed by us. The motifs are cropped slightly differently to fit optimally in each size. 

Does it include a frame?

Frame not included but we offer several good quality frames at competitive prices.

Where are Historly's posters and canvas paintings produced?

We produce all our posters and canvas paintings in Sweden.

Gift

Will I receive a physical receipt with me in the delivery? 

Receipts and delivery notes are digital and sent to your specified e-mail address. Should your order be sent as a gift directly to the recipient, we recommend that you use your own e-mail address at checkout if you want the delivery to be a surprise. 

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes, we do. You can find the gift cards in the menu or by searching for gift cards in the search box.

Shipping

Which countries do you deliver to and how much does it cost? 

We basically deliver to the whole world and shipping is completely free. At the moment we do not deliver to the UK.

How long is your delivery time?

For posters, the following applies:

The delivery time within the Nordic region is approx. 1-3 working days. 
Within the rest of Europe, the delivery time is 2-5 working days. 
In other parts of the world, the delivery time is approximately 3-8 working days. 

As for canvases, we make them by hand in our factory in Sweden. The canvas needs to dry before we stretch them on a wooden frame and send them to you. The delivery time for a canvas painting is therefore approximately 7 working days within the Nordic countries, slightly longer to other countries.

Which agent does the package go to?

Your order will be sent to your nearest collection point. Unfortunately, you cannot choose the delivery location yourself, but the shipping company automatically determines which is your nearest delivery location based on the address you provided when ordering. You can clearly see which agent the package has arrived at in the notification you receive when the package has arrived. Within Sweden we mainly ship with DHL, to Norway with Norska Posten, to other parts of the world it varies between DB Schenker, FedEx etc.

Payment

We are a company - can we pay by invoice?

As a company, you can choose to pay by invoice. Write to us before placing an order if you wish this and enter delivery and invoicing information as well as what you wish to order and we will help you further.

Right of withdrawal and returns

I made a mistake in my order, can you change or cancel it? 

Contact us as soon as possible after placing your order and we will do everything we can to help you. Email the changes you wish to hello@historly.com and don't forget to enter the order number. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we will make the changes in time, but you always have a 30-day right of withdrawal as long as you do not break/open the seal on the goods. 

Can I return an item and how do I do it?

As standard we offer 30 days of open purchase on posters and frames but during the period November - December we have 60 days so you can buy Christmas presents without stress.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to return a canvas painting as these are produced when the order is placed, by hand and specifically for you as a customer. It is also not possible to return frames on which you have ordered a framing service, of course not the actual framing service which is carried out in the factory when ordering one. In the case of a return, you as the customer are responsible for the return shipping which costs SEK 69 (except for 100x140 frames which cost SEK 400 in return costs due to the size) and is deducted from the amount that we pay back to you for the returned item. The product must be returned in undamaged original packaging and be in salable new condition. The right of exchange and return cannot be used if the product is specially adapted. Frames are delivered with a protective plastic that must not be opened if you want the right to return a frame (frames that have been framed at the request of the customer cannot be returned). 

If you wish to make a return, please email us at hello@historly.com and include your name, order number/invoice number and the items you wish to return including their product name and quantity. We will send you a return code that you take with you along with your ID to any DHL Servicepoint within 14 days of notifying us of the return. When we receive the product, we will check the condition of the item before issuing a refund. We apply a full depreciation  if the product is not in salable new condition. 

Packages not picked up

If the products are returned to us because they were not picked up at the delivery point in time, we need to charge a cost of SEK 250 to cover the costs of double shipping and handling of the return.

Complaint

What do I do if I want to advertise the product?

All complaints (damaged or incorrect goods) must be made within one week of receipt of delivery. Complaints are sent to hello@historly.com with an explanation and attached picture of the fault or damage. We will replace the faulty product with a new one.
