53 Years with Umbrellas
Another umbrella shop was photographed at the same address in 1957, this time Sigrid Sjöberg’s, photographed by Lennart af Petersens. The City Museum’s two images make S:t Paulsgatan 2 B a small fragment of unusually persistent specialist retail: umbrellas belonged there in the archive both in 1904 and 53 years later.

The story behind the motif

One one stands at the entrance to an umbrella shop in 1904. The umbrella shop was located at S:t Paulsgatan 2B, Södermalm near the lock.
