Four Swedish miles have been compressed into 52 millimetres here. In Uppsala University’s older map catalogue, the sheet was registered as number 1439 among the border maps, even though the original measures only 40 × 27.5 centimetres—a small sheet for an entire borderland.

The story behind the motif

Poster with a beautiful, old-fashioned map of the areas around the border between Sweden and Norway in Dalsland and Bohuslän.

The map is hand drawn and on it we see everything from " Dalsland" to " Wästergötland" . To the left we also see the text: " Salt Siön ock Stora Wester Hafwet " in lovely old-fashioned Swedish. A beautifully illustrated map of Västra Götaland County.
