80,000 Despite the Rain
When F 3 at Malmen celebrated 50 years of Swedish military aviation on 1–2 September 1962, the air show drew around 80,000 spectators despite poor weather. During the jubilee, King Gustaf VI Adolf also unveiled a memorial stone to aviation pioneer Carl Cederström.

The story behind the motif

Advertising poster for the flight flotilla F3's flight day on 1-2 September 1962. The flight flotilla was also called the Östgöta air flotilla. Aviation Day was to mark 50 years in the air.
