Two years after Privat-Livemont’s poster was printed in Brussels in 1896, it found a second life in Paris. In 1898, it was reproduced in Les Maîtres de l’Affiche, a monthly series that gathered reproductions of the finest illustrated posters by both French and foreign artists.

The story behind the motif

Poster with a famous advertisement for absinthe Absinthe Robette from the year 1896. The illustration is created by the famous Belgian artist Henri Privat-Livemont and in the art style Art Nouveau.
