A Christmas motif with a question mark
The library catalogue lacks both a certain date and a certain artist: Joseph Hoover is merely a name on an old catalogue card, and the information is explicitly unconfirmed. One documented later chapter, however, is that the original print was conserved by the Library of Congress in 1973—a small archival mystery surrounding a Christmas image.

The story behind the motif

Christmas Eve painting canvas by Joseph Hoover & Sons Co. from the year 1880.

In this extremely atmospheric picture, we are sucked into a cozy Christmas atmosphere. It's Christmas Eve and the moon is high in the sky. Ekipage arrives at a house and finely dressed guests disembark to join the party.

Artist : Joseph Hoover & Sons Co. | Created : 1880

Shipping & Delivery

We deliver worldwide and always offer free shipping! Depending on the country you are shipping to, delivery may involve certain customs duties and taxes – no customs duties or taxes apply to deliveries within the EU or Norway.

Delivery time is normally around 5–7 business days within the Nordic countries, as we handcraft our canvas artworks in our factory in Sweden, and the canvas fabric also needs to dry before we stretch it over a wooden frame and ship it to you.

If you order from Norway, your order will be delivered with Fedex; to Sweden and the rest of the world with DHL. Your package is normally delivered to your nearest pickup point!
