In 1910, the year after Gunnar G:son Wennerberg left the Gustavsberg porcelain factory, he painted this oil painting. There, for fourteen years, he had transformed his meticulous studies of flowers into decorations for everyday tableware and art ceramics. The painting did not become part of the Nationalmuseum collections until 2013.

The story behind the motif

Poster with a beautiful painting of autumn flowers, sun bride and autumn leaves from 1910. The work was painted by the Swedish artist Gunnar G. Wennerberg (1863-1914). Wennerberg was very skilled and famous for his flower motifs.
