The story behind the motif
Poster with a vintage poster of a pheasant . The illustration was drawn by the von Wright brothers and published at the beginning of the 20th century in the book Swedish Birds After Nature Och På Sten Ritad. In the picture we see, among other things, the text P hasianus Colchicus Torquatus - Latin for the name of the species .
The pheasant is a fowl that was originally only found in southern Asia, but was introduced to many places around the world, including Europe, where it has gone wild in many places.
