A W from the Eighteenth Century
The small w in «öfwer» is a marker of its time, not merely old-fashioned decoration. In the eighteenth century, Swedish still lacked a fixed spelling standard, and w was often used where we write v today. It was not until 1801 that the Swedish Academy gave the language a more uniform spelling.

The map is artistically decorated and contains detailed topographical and geographical depictions of islands, bays, bays and areas in and around the archipelago. On the map you can see places like Sollentuna, Vallentuna, Danderyd, Åkers Socken, Täby, Värmdö, Stockholm city and other areas around Stockholm.
