A Warship Funded by Public Subscription
Signals were sent from the coastal defence ship Sverige to another warship during an exercise in June 1940. The vessel was the result of an unusual public fundraising effort: when construction was postponed in 1912, private individuals raised the money, making Sverige the largest and heaviest Swedish warship to date.
