The Mountain Before the Lift
Riksgränsen was a ski resort long before anyone could take a lift up the mountain. Skidfrämjandet’s tourist station Lapplandia opened in 1928, but the first lift did not arrive until 1952 – so outings during the resort’s early skiing years quite literally began under their own power.

The story behind the motif

Black and white poster with a vintage photograph from midsummer in Riksgränsen in 1934. The picture shows a sunny, and probably very hot summer day when the four touring skiers are wearing only a small skirt and are otherwise completely naked.

Photographer: T. Dahllöf | Created: 1934.

Frame not included.

Please note that the images are cropped slightly differently depending on the size you choose. Read more about image and image quality here: FAQ .

Paper & Print

Frame not included with posters and must be purchased separately - either via the popup that opens when you add to cart or via our frames collection page.

Our posters are printed on matte, museum-quality paper weighing 230 gsm, with a subtle texture that gives the motif remarkable depth and vibrant color reproduction. Thanks to the paper’s exceptional quality, you can expect durability of up to 60 years if you avoid strong sunlight or other strain.
