The story behind the motif

Canvas with the painting When Putte rode to Björkudden 1917 by John Bauer.

The motif shows a small boy riding a horse that makes a great leap. Most of the painting's background consists of white sky with yellow clouds, bluebells and white flowers on the ground. The little boy in the picture is inspired by the artist's son Bengt Putte Bauer, who was only two years old when the work was created.
