The story behind the motif
This poster features Eric Hallström's 1918 painting of Rörstrand's porcelain factory, beautifully set against the backdrop of Karlbergssjön in Stockholm, Sweden.
Rörstrand, established in 1726, holds the distinction of being Europe's second-oldest porcelain brand, following Germany's Meissen. Initially located at Rörstrand Castle in Vasastan, Stockholm, and known as Det Swenske Porcellinsvärket, the company initially produced only earthenware. It wasn't until the 19th century that Rörstrand began crafting genuine porcelain, marking a significant evolution in its manufacturing prowess.
This poster celebrates the rich history and enduring legacy of Swedish craftsmanship through Hallström's artistry.
Black collection are selected motifs where we replaced the white passepartout with a black one to highlight the motif in a modern and unique way.
