The story behind the motif

Poster with an old map described in French: Carte des courones de Nord - which translates to Map of the Northern Crowns .

This beautiful, detailed map of the Nordic region was made by the French cartographer Guillaume Delisle in 1692. On it we mainly see the Nordic region but also some surrounding countries.
