The story behind the motif

Canvas with the painting Freya by John Bauer from 1916. Freya holds out her long blonde hair and lets it fall to the sides of her. Her torso is bare and she has a light piece of cloth over her legs. Freya was a prominent goddess in Norse mythology who brought love, sexuality and love but also war and death.

Iconic John Bauer is known for his fairytale motifs with goblins and princesses and he has had a great influence on Nordic folklore and storytelling.

We deliver worldwide and always offer free shipping! Depending on the country you are shipping to, delivery may involve certain customs duties and taxes – no customs duties or taxes apply to deliveries within the EU or Norway.

Delivery time is normally around 5–7 business days within the Nordic countries, as we handcraft our canvas artworks in our factory in Sweden, and the canvas fabric also needs to dry before we stretch it over a wooden frame and ship it to you.

If you order from Norway, your order will be delivered with Fedex; to Sweden and the rest of the world with DHL. Your package is normally delivered to your nearest pickup point!
