The story behind the motif

Poster with a painting of two partridges in a beautiful autumn landscape by the Swedish artist Bruno Liljefors from 1913.

The painting is an excellent example of Liljefor's skill in rendering Swedish nature and its wildlife with great realism and feeling.

In the painting, Liljefors depicts a typical Swedish autumn scene with colorful deciduous trees and a barren but beautiful environment. In the middle of the landscape, two partridges can be seen wandering over the ground.
