The story behind the motif
Poster featuring the illustration "Happy Easter!" by Jenny Nyström.

The illustration depicts three children in traditional festive dress who appear to be making Easter visits. The girl at the front is holding a bouquet of daffodils, the child in the middle carries a basket of eggs, and the child at the back holds white flowers. At the upper right appears the text “Happy Easter!”, and at the lower left Jenny Nyström’s signature is visible. The motif has a bright and festive atmosphere with clear symbols of spring and Easter.

Jenny Nyström (1854–1946) is one of Sweden’s most beloved artists and illustrators. Through her iconic motifs for postcards, children’s books, and periodicals, she came to shape the image of Swedish traditions and holidays — especially Christmas. Her work carries a warm nostalgia and a timeless sense of storytelling that has made her a natural part of Sweden’s cultural heritage.
