The story behind the motif
The poster from around the 1940s urges to "Get up! The Home Guard is calling!" and was part of a campaign to recruit more people to Hemvärnet, a voluntary defense organization in Sweden.
The image has a simple design with a soldier in uniform who stands in a challenging stance and holds a rifle. Next to him is a passive man sitting in a chair who appears to be in a relaxed state, which contrasts with the soldier's action.Frame not included.
