The story behind the motif

Poster with a funny photograph from 1930 of four young men running next to a large steam locomotive. Based on the logo on their tank tops, they were probably track and field athletes from the University of Southern California. (USC).

In the 1930s, USC was by far the best in collegiate athletics, winning a whopping 9 national championships.
