When the Fisherman Became an Advertisement
During the high-cost period of 1917, a GP reporter investigated fish prices in Gothenburg and accused traders of dressing up as fishermen to appear to be bypassing middlemen. At the same time, herring and other fish became a charged part of the food crisis that would soon lead to hunger riots in the city.

The story behind the motif
Two Gothenburg fishermen are fishing for eels in the Göta River in 1917. They are probably the only ones in Gothenburg who use a fishing gear that Stockholm fishermen use when fishing Nors. The tradition of using sinkers in fishing goes as far back as the 17th century.
