Five white egrets stand gathered against a grey-blue background while snowflakes fall around them. The pale birds and the restrained color palette create a tranquil winter motif with a distinct graphic rhythm.
Ohara Koson was especially known for his nature and bird motifs. The print was published by Watanabe Shōzaburō and belongs to the modern Japanese woodblock print tradition of the first half of the 20th century.
