When the image became a teaching tool
In 1900, the elementary school received a new standard curriculum that emphasised visual learning: children were to learn with the help of images and charts, among other things, not only through text and the blackboard. Botanical prints made the plant kingdom something that could be studied together in the classroom, long before screens and projectors.

The story behind the motif

Poster with illustration of jword men from the early 20th century. The strawberry belongs to the family Rosaceae and the genus Fragaria. Despite its name, it is not a "true" berry by botanical definition because its seeds are on the outside of the fruit.

Frame not included.

Please note that the images are cropped slightly differently depending on the size you choose. Read more about image and image quality here: FAQ.

Paper & Print

Frame not included with posters and must be purchased separately - either via the popup that opens when you add to cart or via our frames collection page.

Our posters are printed on matte, museum-quality paper weighing 230 gsm, with a subtle texture that gives the motif remarkable depth and vibrant color reproduction. Thanks to the paper’s exceptional quality, you can expect durability of up to 60 years if you avoid strong sunlight or other strain.
