The story behind the motif
Canvas with the fantastic painting Night with her Train of Stars from 1912. The painting is made of Edward Robert Hughes who was a British painter. Hughes mainly created watercolors, but also some oil paintings.
The painting's title is derived from W. E Henley's poem: "Margaritae Sorori". The poem begins with the text:
"A late lark twitters from the quiet skies:
And from the west,
Where the sun, his day's work ended,
Lingers as in content,
There falls on the old, gray city
An influence luminous and serene,
A shining peace."
