The story behind the motif

Fishing in Bohuslän in 1935. Men hang fished ling on a drying stand in Skärhamn, The small white boat is overflowing with fish that have been cleaned and fanned in a special way to be strung up and dried with wooden slats. According to the caption, approx. 40,000 kg long are hung on the racks to be air-dried and then become lute fish.
